The Curse is Broken & The Clock is Ticking: The Final Warning of Revelation 22

Church family, the Bible does not end with a whimper. It ends with a roaring invitation and a ticking clock. Today, we are standing at the very end of the age, looking at Revelation 22. This is the ultimate crescendo of God’s redemptive plan, and it holds the keys to our immediate future.
THE ULTIMATE REVERSAL (THE CURSE IS BROKEN)
In Genesis 3, a curse entered the world, bringing death, thorns, and separation from God. But in Revelation 22:1-3, the curse is finally broken. The angel shows John the “river of the water of life, clear as crystal, coming from the throne of God and of the Lamb.”
The Tree of Life is accessible again, bearing twelve kinds of fruit, and its leaves are for “the healing of the nations.” There will be no more night, no more need for the sun or a lamp, because the Lord God will illuminate His people forever. The ultimate reversal has begun!
THE THREEFOLD URGENCY (THE TICKING CLOCK)
Listen to the heartbeat of this final chapter. Three times in these closing verses, Jesus says the exact same thing: “Behold, I am coming quickly” (Verses 7, 12, and 20).
Verse 10 gives us our marching orders: “Do not seal up the words of the prophecy of this book, for the time is near.” Church family, we are not meant to hide this prophecy; we are meant to proclaim it! The clock is ticking, and the King is at the door.
THE FINAL ALTAR CALL (THE THIRSTY SOUL)
Amidst the urgency, we hear the most beautiful invitation in all of Scripture. Revelation 22:17 declares: “The Spirit and the bride say, ‘Come.’ And let the one who hears say, ‘Come.’ And let the one who is thirsty come; let the one who desires, take the water of life without cost.”
Salvation is a free gift. It costs nothing, but you must be thirsty enough to take it. The Holy Spirit is issuing the final call. Will you answer?
THE SOLEMN WARNING & THE WORSHIP CORRECTION
There is a fierce protection over God’s Word. Verses 18 and 19 make it clear: do not add to or take away from the words of this prophecy. In a world of twisted translations and false gospels, we must hold fast to the pure, unadulterated Word of God.
Furthermore, when John was overwhelmed and tried to worship the angel in verse 8, the angel immediately stopped him: “Do not do that… Worship God!” No created being, no prophet, no organization takes the place of the Almighty. Worship belongs to the Lord alone.

Pray this from your heart: “Lord Jesus, I admit I’m a sinner. I believe You died for me and rose again. I confess You as my Lord and Savior. I am thirsty for Your living water. Write my name in the Lamb’s Book of Life. In Jesus’ name, Amen.”
