God Waits No Longer: Revelation 16 and the Unrepentant Hardliners of the Earth

Friends and Bible Study Group of Divine Timing, over the years, people have read the book of Revelation and become comfortable, assuming it will never happen in their lifetime. But I am here to tell you that this is indeed the generation that shall see all these things come to pass. Why am I so confident? Because our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ Himself gave us the guarantee in Matthew 24:34. Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass, till all these things be fulfilled. 

Revelation 16 is the chapter that displays God waiting no longer. Judgment falls on the most stubborn, hard-lined rebels the earth has to offer. And the most terrifying part? They still will not repent.

THE SUPREME COURT OF HEAVEN & THE FIRST VIAL

Revelation 16 begins with a great voice out of the temple commanding the seven angels to pour out the vials of God’s wrath. This reveals a profound truth: there is a Supreme Court in Heaven that makes the final decisions dictating what happens on earth based on mankind’s behavior.

The first vial brings a “noisome and grievous sore” upon the men who have the mark of the beast. This is not a natural disease or a man-made vaccine side effect. This is a direct, angelic execution of judgment. The intensity of God’s wrath is escalating because these individuals have officially sworn their allegiance to the devil instead of the Creator.

THE WATERS TURN TO BLOOD: JUSTICE FOR THE SAINTS

The second and third vials turn the sea and the fresh waters into the “blood of a dead man.” Every living soul in the sea dies, and the rivers become undrinkable. Dying from thirst is a horrible way to go, and the global food chain collapses instantly.

But listen to the angel of the waters in verse 5: “Thou art righteous, O Lord… because thou hast judged thus. For they have shed the blood of saints and prophets, and thou hast given them blood to drink; for they are worthy.”

God’s justice is poetic and absolute. The altar itself cries out, “Even so, Lord God Almighty, true and righteous are thy judgments.” The blood of the martyrs has been avenged.

THE UNREPENTANT HARDLINERS: SCORCHED AND IN DARKNESS

The fourth vial gives the sun power to scorch men with fire. You would think that undeniable, supernatural punishment would bring people to their knees. But verse 9 says: “And they repented not to give him glory.”

This is the attitude of rebellion we see in our world today. When the punishment comes, they do not examine their own hearts; they blaspheme the name of God and blame someone else.

The fifth vial plunges the seat of the beast into total darkness. Men gnaw their tongues for pain and blaspheme God because of their sores. They repented not of their deeds. The hardness of their hearts is absolute.

THE EUPHRATES DRIES & ARMAGEDDON IS GATHERED

The sixth vial dries up the great river Euphrates, preparing the way for the kings of the east. From the mouths of the dragon, the beast, and the false prophet, three unclean spirits like frogs go forth to gather the kings of the whole world to the battle of that great day of God Almighty: Armageddon.

Right in the middle of this demonic gathering, Jesus inserts a blessed promise: “Behold, I come as a thief. Blessed is he that watcheth, and keepeth his garments, lest he walk naked, and they see his shame.” (v. 15)

“IT IS DONE”: THE GREAT EARTHQUAKE AND BABYLON’S FALL

The seventh angel pours his vial into the air, and the voice from the throne declares, “It is done.”

What follows is a great earthquake, such as was not since men were upon the earth. The great city is divided into three parts, the cities of the nations fall, and great Babylon comes in remembrance before God, to receive the cup of the wine of the fierceness of His wrath.

Every island flees away, the mountains are not found, and great hail, every stone about the weight of a talent, falls from heaven. And even under a hail of 100-pound stones, the hardliners blasphemed God because of the plague of the hail. Their rebellion is eternal.
