Church family, look around. 👀The headlines are loud. The political theater is intense. With the midterms approaching and global tensions rising, it is easy to feel overwhelmed, anxious, and uncertain about the future of our nation and our world.
But I want to invite you to look up. While the world scrambles for temporary solutions, God is preparing an eternal kingdom. We are not called to put our ultimate hope in political parties, earthly leaders, or fleeting treaties. Our hope is anchored in a promise that cannot be shaken.
THE GLORIOUS PROMISE: A NEW HEAVEN AND A NEW EARTH
Turn with me to Revelation chapter 21. It might be the most glorious, breathtaking chapter in all of Scripture.
John writes, “Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth passed away… And I saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God.” (Revelation 21:1-2, NASB).
And then, the One who sits on the throne speaks the most beautiful words you will ever hear: “Behold, I am making all things new.”
Not repaired. Not patched up. Made entirely new.
NO MORE TEARS: GOD DWELLS WITH US
Imagine that for a moment. God Himself will dwell among us. Verse 4 declares: “He will wipe away every tear from their eyes; and there will no longer be any death; there will no longer be any mourning, or crying, or pain; the first things have passed away.”
While the nations rage and political campaigns promise a better tomorrow, the Bible tells us that in the New Earth, there will still be nations, and they will walk by the light of the New Jerusalem (Revelation 21:24). The same God who sees the midterm elections, who sees every injustice, and who knows every heartbreak, is the same God who is actively making all things new.
ETERNAL SECURITY: THE GATES WILL NEVER BE SHUT
Verse 25 tells us, “In the daytime (and there will be no night there) its gates will never be closed.”
Think about the contrast. Right now, we live in a world of closed borders, locked doors, and constant vigilance. But in the New Jerusalem, there is eternal security, eternal peace, and eternal access to the King of Kings. The former things have truly passed away.
GET YOUR HOUSE IN ORDER: THE URGENT INVITATION
So, Church, get your house in order. Do not let the distress of this present age steal your joy. The Fig Tree has put forth its leaves. The generation that sees these signs will see His return. But until that trumpet sounds, we are called to be a people of unshakeable hope.
And to anyone listening who does not know Jesus: this hope is not just for the future; it is for you right now. You do not have to carry the weight of this broken world alone. The One who makes all things new wants to make your heart new today.

Bend the knee today. The One who makes all things new is standing at the door and knocking. Secure your eternity and your present peace.
- A — ADMIT You’re a Sinner (Romans 3:23)
- B — BELIEVE Jesus Died and Rose (Romans 5:8)
- C — CONFESS Him as Lord (Romans 10:9)
Pray this from your heart: “Lord Jesus, I admit I’m a sinner. I believe You died for me and rose again. I confess You as my Lord and Savior. Make my heart new, and write my name in the Lamb’s Book of Life. In Jesus’ name, Amen.”
⚡ 5-MINUTE ACTIVATION: ANCHOR YOUR HOPE
Take 5 minutes today to shift your focus from the distress of the world to the promise of the New Jerusalem.
Step 1: READ Revelation 21:1-5 (60 sec)
Read these verses aloud. Declare: “The former things are passing away. God is making all things new.”
Step 2: PRAY the Hope Prayer (90 sec)
“Lord, I confess that the headlines of this world cause me anxiety. But today, I choose to fix my eyes on the New Jerusalem. Thank You for the promise that You will wipe away every tear. Make my heart new today, and help me to be a beacon of Your hope to others. In Jesus’ name, Amen.”
Step 3: ACT (60 sec)
Identify one area of anxiety in your life (politics, finances, health). Write it down, and physically cross it out, writing “God is making this new” next to it.
⏱️ Total time: 5 minutes. 🔥 Result: Anchored. Hopeful. Empowered.
Church family, do not let the distress of this present age steal your joy. Get your house in order. The King is coming, and He is making all things new.

Admit your need for Him, believe in His death and resurrection, and confess Him as Lord. Secure your eternity and find the peace that surpasses all understanding.
