Israel will not move forward on the U.S.-backed peace framework for Gaza until Hamas gives up its weapons, Doron Spielman, international spokesman for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s office, told Newsmax on Saturday.

”Israel’s very clear: Until Hamas demilitarizes, there’s no other step forward,” Spielman said on ”Saturday Agenda.”

Spielman said Hamas has failed to comply with President Donald Trump’s 20-point plan, which he said called for the group to immediately disarm.

”They have not given up one gun,” Spielman said. ”They have over 100,000 Kalashnikov machine guns in Gaza. That’s an army.”

Spielman said Hamas has been ”practicing another scenario of mass casualty attacks against Israel,” rebuilding weapons supplies and digging tunnels.

”Hamas — the leopard hasn’t changed its spots,” he said. ”They want to carry out another attack in Israel.”

”Nothing is going to change in Gaza, nothing, until that first step that President Trump lays down that we agreed to is that the guns will be taken away from Hamas,” Spielman said.

Spielman also addressed U.S. sanctions against Iran, saying Israel supports the economic pressure but doubts it alone will end the conflict.

”The economic enforcement to try to bleed this regime dry is an important, very important step, and Israel stands behind President Trump,” he said.

Asked whether sanctions could bring Tehran back to negotiations, Spielman said, ”I think the real question is, will it cause them to end the war that they began? And in this, I’m doubtful.”

”This regime has shown its colors,” he added.

”They’ve shot at American soldiers and killed American soldiers. They’ve killed Israelis. They shot more than a thousand ballistic missiles at Israel.”

Spielman said Israel’s foremost priority remains preventing Iran from obtaining nuclear weapons.

”The number one thing here is to make sure that that enriched uranium is not in Iran, because we are not being fooled by Iran,” he said.

”Ultimately speaking, this regime needs to fall, and the Iranian people need to take a step forward,” Spielman added.

Spielman praised Trump as a ”master negotiator” and said Israel supports his effort to reach an agreement with Tehran.

”He’s trying for a deal,” Spielman said. ”If he manages with the deal, that’s great. That’s the easy way. If not, we will do it the hard way.”

”There is no situation,” he added, ”where Iran will retain enriched uranium that it could turn around to a bomb against Israel.”
