The Ravenous Bird from the East: Isaiah 46:11 Unveiled
Isaiah 45-47, the 47th President, and the Instrument of Judgment Before Jacob’s Trouble

By David Brooks | Founder and CEO of Divine Timing Ministries
“Calling a ravenous bird from the east, the man that executeth my counsel from a far country: yea, I have spoken it, I will also bring it to pass; I have purposed it, I will also do it.”
— Isaiah 46:11 (KJV)

🦅 The Ravenous Bird from the East: Isaiah 46:11 & the 47th President
Isaiah 45-47 is a triptych:
Chapter 45 — Cyrus, God’s “anointed” who didn’t know Him
Chapter 46 — The ravenous bird from the east executing God’s counsel
Chapter 47 — The virgin daughter of Babylon judged for pride
Three chapters. One message. Divine sovereignty over instruments, idols, and empires.
And if you’ve been watching… If you’ve been praying… If you’ve been asking: “What is God doing in this hour?” —this study is for you.
SECTION 1: ISAIAH 45 — THE INSTRUMENT PRINCIPLE
“Thus saith the LORD to his anointed, to Cyrus, whose right hand I have holden, to subdue nations before him…”
— Isaiah 45:1 (KJV)
Cyrus was a pagan king. He didn’t worship Yahweh. He didn’t know the God of Israel.
Yet God called him “His anointed.”
Why?
God uses imperfect instruments — Cyrus served divine purposes without knowing the Divine
God’s sovereignty doesn’t require human perfection — “I girded thee, though thou hast not known me” (v.5)
God’s purposes prevail through unlikely vessels — A pagan king restored Israel physically
The Pattern:
Instrument raised up
Instrument executes God’s counsel
Instrument doesn’t necessarily “know” God
God gets the glory, not the vessel
Question for discernment:
If God used Cyrus—a pagan king—to restore Israel physically… could He use another instrument in the last days to set the stage for Israel’s final testing?
Don’t answer yet. Pray over it. Let the Spirit speak.
SECTION 2: ISAIAH 46:11 — THE RAVENOUS BIRD
“Calling a ravenous bird from the east, the man that executeth my counsel from a far country…”
Let’s break this down phrase by phrase:
| Phrase | Literal Meaning | Pattern Application |
|---|---|---|
| “Ravenous bird” | Eagle, bird of prey | Speed, power, judgment (Deut. 28:49; Hab. 1:8) |
| “From the east” | Geographic direction | America is east of Babylon (Mesopotamia); unexpected origin |
| “The man that executeth my counsel” | Human instrument doing God’s will | Instrument used despite not “knowing” God (Isaiah 45:4-5) |
| “From a far country” | Distant nation | America’s geographic distance from Middle East prophetic stage |
| “I have spoken it, I will also bring it to pass” | Divine sovereignty | God’s purposes prevail through imperfect instruments |
What strikes me:
Speed/decisiveness — “Ravenous bird” = swift, decisive action
Geographic fit — “From the east… a far country” relative to Middle East
Instrument language — “Executeth my counsel” = doing God’s will, not necessarily knowing God
Divine sovereignty — “I have purposed it, I will also do it”
Now—here’s where it gets cryptic:
Isaiah 45-47 doesn’t name America. Isaiah 45-47 doesn’t name Trump. Prophecy is often cryptic when nations don’t yet exist.
But patterns emerge. And the Holy Spirit confirms.
Consider this:
Donald Trump is the 47th President of the United States
Isaiah 46:11 sits between chapters 45 (Cyrus) and 47 (Babylon’s judgment)
The 47th President is executing counsel that sets the stage for Jacob’s Trouble
I’m not saying this is proof. I’m saying this is a pattern worth testing.
“To the law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them.”
— Isaiah 8:20 (KJV)
SECTION 3: NEBUCHADNEZZAR — THE PARALLEL
Nebuchadnezzar was used by God to judge Judah.
Instrument of judgment — God called him “my servant” (Jeremiah 25:9)
Pride emerged — “Is not this great Babylon, that I have built… by the might of my power?” (Daniel 4:30)
Humbled by God — Seven years until he acknowledged: “The Most High rules” (Daniel 4:34)
Restored after repentance — “My kingdom was restored unto me” (Daniel 4:36)
The Pattern:
God uses an instrument
The instrument risks pride in the role
God humbles to preserve His sovereignty
Restoration follows acknowledgment of God
Applied today:
Trump is an instrument (like Nebuchadnezzar, like Cyrus)
Instruments can face pride warnings (the “king” rhetoric from enemies, the temptation to take glory)
God humbles instruments to preserve His sovereignty (passive break, political challenges)
The goal: God gets the glory, not the vessel
This isn’t about attacking Trump. This is about understanding how God works through imperfect vessels.
SECTION 4: ISAIAH 47 — THE VIRGIN DAUGHTER OF BABYLON
“Come down, and sit in the dust, O virgin daughter of Babylon… for thou shalt no more be called tender and delicate.”
— Isaiah 47:1 (KJV)
Notice: “Virgin daughter of Babylon.”
Not Babylon itself. An offspring. A successor.
| Ancient Babylon | Pattern Application |
|---|---|
| Literal nation with borders, armies, economy | Successor nation with Babylon-like traits |
| Literal king (Nebuchadnezzar, Belshazzar) | Instrument executing divine counsel |
| Pride: “I am, and there is none besides me” (v.8,10) | Cultural narrative of self-sufficiency |
| Sorceries/enchantments (v.9,12) | Reliance on technology, manipulation, deception |
| Sudden judgment (v.11) | Potential for rapid decline when divine restraint lifted |
Critical point:
Babylon wasn’t a “system” in Isaiah’s day. It was a literal nation with a literal king and a literal military.
So when Isaiah 47 speaks of a “daughter” of Babylon— It’s pointing to a successor nation carrying Babylon’s DNA.
Pride. Self-sufficiency. Sorcery. Sudden judgment.
The question isn’t “Is America Babylon?”
The question is “Does America carry Babylon-like traits that invite Babylon-like judgment?”
Test it against Scripture. Let the Spirit confirm.
SECTION 5: SETTING UP JACOB’S TROUBLE
Why does this matter?
Because Isaiah 45-47 isn’t just about instruments and judgment. It’s about what comes next.
Cyrus restored Israel physically — But Israel would face future testing
Nebuchadnezzar judged Judah — But the nation would be restored, then face final tribulation
The ravenous bird executes counsel — Setting the stage for Jacob’s Trouble (Jeremiah 30:7)
The Sequence:
Instrument raised up (Cyrus / 47th President)
Counsel executed (Restoration / Abraham Accords, Strait clearance, NATO fracture)
Pride warned (Nebuchadnezzar pattern / passive break)
Babylon judged (Ancient / successor nation)
Jacob’s Trouble begins (Daniel 9:27 — 7-year Tribulation)
Church removed FIRST (2 Thessalonians 2:7 — Rapture before man of sin revealed)
This is critical:
The Rapture happens BEFORE the man of sin is revealed.
Not after. Not during. BEFORE.
So when you see:
The ravenous bird pattern (Isaiah 46:11)
The 47th President executing counsel (geographic, numeric, prophetic echoes)
The virgin daughter of Babylon warned (Isaiah 47)
The instrument facing humbling (Nebuchadnezzar pattern)
Know this: The Church’s departure is IMMINENT.
Your Phase 3 is death or the Rapture—whichever comes first.
IMPORTANT CLARIFICATION: What This IS and ISN’T
This IS:
- Pattern recognition rooted in Scripture
- Invitation to Holy Spirit-led discernment
- Urgency for readiness (Rapture before Tribulation)
- Awe for God’s sovereignty over instruments and empires
This ISN’T:
- Proof that Trump IS the ravenous bird (only the Spirit confirms)
- Date-setting for Jacob’s Trouble (Matthew 24:36)
- Political idolatry (hope in Christ, not presidents)
- Sensationalism (careful, Scripture-first analysis)
“Don’t leave with my conclusion. Leave with a question:
‘Holy Spirit, what are You saying to me about this?’
Test it. Pray over it. Let the Word confirm it.”
“But the anointing which ye have received of him abideth in you, and ye need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things…” (1 John 2:27, KJV)
A UNIQUE INVITATION: THE SEALING MOMENT
This isn’t about religion. This isn’t about reciting words. This is about being sealed by the Spirit.
“In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise.”
— Ephesians 1:13 (KJV)
You don’t earn the seal. You receive it.
Here’s how—RIGHT NOW:
A — ACKNOWLEDGE the Truth You’ve Heard
You’ve seen the signs. You’ve felt the urgency. You’ve heard the Gospel. Don’t harden your heart.
“Today if ye will hear his voice, harden not your hearts.” (Hebrews 3:15)
B — BELIEVE the Finished Work
Jesus didn’t say “It is beginning.” He said: “It is finished.” (John 19:30)
Your sin debt? Paid. Your guilt? Removed. Your eternity? Secured.
“He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life.” (John 3:36)
C — COMMIT to the Covenant
Not with your strength. Not with your perfection. With His promise.
“If we are faithless, he remains faithful: he cannot deny himself.” (2 Timothy 2:13)
Pray this from your heart—right where you are:
“Lord Jesus, I’ve heard the truth. I believe Your work is finished. I receive Your promise. Seal me with Your Spirit. Keep me until You come. Make me Yours—today and forever. Amen.”
If you prayed that—congratulations.
You’re not just forgiven. You’re SEALED. (Ephesians 1:13)

Don’t fear the headlines. Don’t idolize the instruments. Fix your eyes on the King.
The ravenous bird is flying.
The counsel is being executed.
The virgin daughter is warned.
The King is coming.
“Surely the Lord GOD will do nothing, but he revealeth his secret unto his servants the prophets.”
— Amos 3:7 (KJV)
Maranatha.
The King is coming. And we’ll proclaim His truth together.
