Bible Stories with Legends: General Jack Keane — Breaking the Bow of Elam

General Jack Keane here. As many of you know, my military career has been defined by service, strategy, and a commitment to the security of this nation. You often see me on mainstream media outlets, where journalists are constantly seeking my analysis on the escalating conflict with Iran.

But let me be honest with you. The challenge for me… has been the constraints. The rigid time slots. The journalists who don’t agree with my assessment talking right over me. The unspoken rules of what I can say, and what I am politically pressured not to say.

David knew this in advance. He asked me to come here, to this platform, to give you my perspective through a lens free of interruptions… and free of political correctness. Here, I have free rein. And I am going to let it rip.

THE FAITH BEHIND THE UNIFORM

Many of you who watch my military analysis don’t know my Christian background. But I have one. My faith is not a public label. It is the anchor of my life. It is what sustained me through seasons of war, through the loss of my beloved wife Theresa, and through the darkest hours of leadership.

I was in the Pentagon on September 11, 2001. I saw the reality of evil that day. It’s not just a philosophical concept; it’s a force that manifests in human actions. Because of that, I look at the world through the lens of good and evil, responsibility and freedom, justice and tyranny. And because of that faith, I am going to tell you what is actually going on, unabated.

You’ve seen it in the last several months. This necessary confrontation has often been unpopular with many. But those with strategic and moral clarity know the truth: We cannot appease evil. We must finish this regime.

DANIEL 8: THE BIBLICAL MAP OF PERSIA

And the question is: Does the Bible have anything to say about this? Absolutely. God is not silent on the affairs of nations. He is the ultimate Commander-in-Chief.

Turn to Daniel chapter 8. In his vision, Daniel sees a ram with two horns. The angel Gabriel explains that the ram represents the kings of Media and Persia. Ancient Persia is modern-day Iran. The Bible maps out the spirit of this region—a spirit of pride, opposition to God’s people, and relentless aggression.

But Scripture also reveals that this power is ultimately broken by the strategic sovereignty of God. The geopolitical chessboard we are watching today is not random. It is prophetic.

JEREMIAH 49: BREAKING THE BOW OF ELAM

Now, look at Jeremiah 49, verses 34 through 39. This is a direct prophecy concerning Elam, which is the heartland of ancient Persia. Listen to the word of the Lord:

Do you hear the absolute certainty in that? God declares that He will break their military might. He will scatter their influence. This is not just ancient history. This is a prophetic blueprint.

God is moving in the Middle East right now. The alignments we are seeing, the pressures being applied, the resistance of the enemy—it is all part of a divine unraveling. The Lord is setting the stage to break the bow of Elam, to dismantle the structures of evil that have held this region in bondage for decades.

STRATEGY MEETS SOVEREIGNTY

As a military man, I look at strategy. As a Christian, I look at sovereignty. And they align perfectly. We are called to act with moral courage, to stand for justice, and to support the eradication of regimes that openly defy the God of the Bible and threaten His people.

This is not about politics. This is about spiritual warfare manifesting on the geopolitical stage. So, to those who are listening, who feel the weight of these times: Do not be swayed by the noise of the mainstream media. Do not be discouraged by the popularity of compromise. Stand firm in the truth. Pray for our leaders to have the resolve to finish the work. And trust that the God of Daniel and Jeremiah is still on His throne.
