I AM Wisdom: Comfort for Your Loss — When Grief Feels Unbearable
“The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.”
— Psalm 34:18 (NIV)
👑 LISTEN NOW: THE VOICE OF COMFORT
Hear Wisdom speak directly to your broken heart. Put on your headphones and let the King comfort you. The voice of Robert Powell.
🎧 “I AM Wisdom. And I am with you in this valley.”
Friends and family of Divine Timing, I need to speak to your heart today.
One of our Bible study members suffered a loss yesterday. His sister. And I know that for many of you reading this, you’ve walked this valley too. Maybe you’re walking it right now.
When loss strikes, where do you run? Do you run from God, angry and confused? Or do you run to Him, broken and desperate for comfort?
In this episode of “I AM Wisdom,” I want you to put on your headphones and let the King speak directly to your heart. But first, let me share what Scripture says about grief, loss, and the comfort that only Christ can provide.
CLOSE TO THE BROKENHEARTED
Psalm 34:18 tells us: “The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.”
Notice it doesn’t say the Lord is distant from the brokenhearted. It doesn’t say He’s disappointed in you for grieving. It says He is CLOSE.
When you feel most alone, He is nearest. When you feel most crushed, He is holding you. When you feel most broken, He is mending you.
BLESSED ARE THOSE WHO MOURN
Jesus said in Matthew 5:4: “Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted.”
This is one of the Beatitudes. This is Kingdom truth. Mourning is not a sign of weak faith. It is a human response to loss. And God promises comfort to those who mourn.
Not “if” you mourn. When you mourn. It’s expected. It’s normal. And it’s met with divine comfort.
THROUGH THE DARKEST VALLEY
Psalm 23:4: “Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.”
David didn’t say he would skip the valley. He said he would walk through it. Grief is a valley. It’s dark. It’s long. It’s exhausting.
But you are not walking it alone. He is with you. His rod and His staff—His authority and His guidance—they comfort you. He is leading you through, not leaving you in.
COME TO ME, AND I WILL GIVE YOU REST
Matthew 11:28: “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.”
Grief is wearying. It’s a burden no one should have to carry alone. And Jesus extends an invitation: “Come to Me.”
Not “fix yourself first.” Not “get your faith together.” Just come. Weary. Burdened. Broken. And He will give you rest.
HE WILL WIPE EVERY TEAR
Revelation 21:4: “He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.”
This is the hope we cling to. This is the promise that anchors us. One day, there will be no more tears. No more death. No more mourning.
Your loved one is free from pain now. They are in His presence. And one day, you will see them again. And He will wipe every tear from your eyes.
NOTHING CAN SEPARATE YOU FROM HIS LOVE
Romans 8:38-39: “For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
Death could not separate your loved one from His love. Grief cannot separate you from His love. Nothing—absolutely nothing—can separate you from the love of God in Christ Jesus.
You are held. You are loved. You are not forgotten.
Run to Him. Not from Him. He is close to the brokenhearted.

Read Psalm 23:4 aloud. “Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for you are with me.” Let that truth sink deep. He is WITH you.
Step 3: REST in His Promise (90 sec)
Pray: “Lord, I trust that my loved one is with You. I trust that one day I will see them again. I rest in Your promise. Maranatha. Come, Lord Jesus.”
⏱️ TOTAL TIME: 5 MINUTES
He is close to the brokenhearted. Receive His comfort.
🔥 MARANATHA
Your loved one is with Him. You are held by Him. One day, He will wipe every tear. Run to Him. He is close to the brokenhearted.
