Friends and watchmen of Divine Timing, isn’t it ironic? When we look at Revelation chapter 7, after reading the indictment from Joel chapter 3 about the growing hatred for the Jewish people on the Earth, what does God do?

He seals 144,000 Jewish people.

Twelve thousand from each tribe. A special service for God during this time of Jacob’s Trouble. Absolutely amazing.

When I read passages of the New Testament and Paul is speaking—for example in Hebrews chapter 1, “to the 12 tribes scattered abroad I greet you!”—it’s almost like these sealed Jewish witnesses will be reading Paul’s greeting for the very first time with open eyes!

And Peter speaking to them. And James and John. Wow! No doubt they will be reading Scripture during this time, and they will be supernaturally protected from harm!

THE 144,000: SEALED FOR SERVICE IN JACOB’S TROUBLE

Revelation 7:1-8 gives us the specific breakdown: 12,000 from each of the 12 tribes of Israel. These are not the raptured Church. These are Jewish believers sealed after the Rapture, during the Tribulation period.

They are sealed on their foreheads with the seal of the living God. This mark protects them from the judgments that are about to fall on the Earth. They are God’s special service corps during the darkest period in human history.

Think about this: These young Jewish men and women will suddenly understand the Hebrew Scriptures in a way they never did before. They’ll read Isaiah 53 and realize, “This is about Jesus!” They’ll read the New Testament epistles with fresh eyes. And they’ll have a supernatural boldness to preach the gospel despite the Antichrist’s persecution.

THE GREAT MULTITUDE: SALVATION THROUGH THE BLOOD

Then in verse 9, Revelation 7 pivots to heaven: “After this I beheld, and, lo, a great multitude, which no man could number, of all nations, and kindreds, and people, and tongues, stood before the throne, and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, and palms in their hands.”

Who are these? These are saved souls. Many are present from the Rapture of the Church. Many are those who have died before that and are already in heaven. They are praising the Lord for salvation that has come through the blood of Jesus Christ!

Verse 14 confirms it: “These are they which came out of great tribulation, and have washed their robes, and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.”

In other words, folks, they made the right decision.

The question is: Will you make the right decision with your life?

SILENCE IN HEAVEN: THE CALM BEFORE THE STORM

Now we pivot to Revelation chapter 8, and what happens next is absolutely staggering. Verse 1: “And when he had opened the seventh seal, there was silence in heaven about the space of half an hour.”

Think about this. Worship is happening in heaven constantly—day and night, the four beasts and the twenty-four elders never stop praising God. But for this moment? Absolute silence for 30 minutes.

Why? Because of the intensity of the judgments that are getting ready to happen on the Earth! This is the reverence before the storm. Heaven itself holds its breath.

THE PRAYERS OF THE SAINTS: GOD HEARS EVERY ONE

But even in this moment of impending judgment, God is still considering those who are loyal to Him on the Earth—the tribulation saints.

Verses 3-4: “And another angel came and stood at the altar, having a golden censer; and there was given unto him much incense, that he should offer it with the prayers of all saints upon the golden altar which was before the throne. And the smoke of the incense, which came with the prayers of the saints, ascended up before God out of the angel’s hand.”

These prayers are kept in a golden censer at the golden altar, which is before the throne. And they continue to ascend up to God out of the angel’s hand.

Amazing! Never think that our prayers are in vain. God hears them all!

I suspect there must be great persecution against these people, and this is why it’s mentioned. They are crying out to God, and He is collecting every prayer in that golden censer.

THE SEVEN TRUMPETS: ALL HELL BREAKS LOOSE

What happens next? Another great earthquake! And now, here come the seven trumpets!

Remember those four horses we went over the other day? The Antichrist, the red horse of war, the pale horse of death, the black horse of famine? They’ve been held back up to this point. And now it’s going to start happening.

First Trumpet (Verse 7): Nuclear Fire, Famine, and Heat

Revelation 8:7: “The first angel sounded, and there followed hail and fire mingled with blood, and they were cast upon the earth: and the third part of trees was burnt up, and all green grass was burnt up.”

This is quite possibly nuclear weapons being used, along with famine and heat. When there is drought and no water on the Earth, fires ignite very easily. Imagine what nuclear weapons can do to a dry Earth?

Yeah, you’re starting to get the picture!

Second Trumpet (Verses 8-9): The Asteroid Strikes

Verse 8-9: “And the second angel sounded, and as it were a great mountain burning with fire was cast into the sea: and the third part of the sea became blood; and the third part of the creatures which were in the sea, and had life, died; and the third part of the ships were destroyed.”

And if that wasn’t bad enough, Steven Spielberg couldn’t drop a movie like this! A great mountain burning with fire is cast into the sea. This means, absolutely 100% certain, an asteroid will strike the Earth during this period of human history!

It’s so intense that a third part of the sea creatures die. And a third part of all ships on the Earth are destroyed. There’s no U.S. military that can take out ships as fast as this asteroid is going to do!

Third Trumpet (Verses 10-11): Poisoned Waters

In Revelation 8:10-11, the angel announces the next judgment: “And the third angel sounded, and there fell a great star from heaven, burning as it were a lamp, and it fell upon the third part of the rivers, and upon the fountains of waters; and the name of the star is called Wormwood: and the third part of the waters became wormwood; and many men died of the waters, because they were made bitter.”

We went from a great mountain burning with fire to a great star. This seems to be a difference. In other words, this might be an angel coming down to poison the waters after the results of the asteroid.

Whatever is the case, a third part of the rivers and the fountains of waters are undrinkable! Again, more famine. And that’s going to be terrible when you don’t have water to drink.

Fourth Trumpet (Verse 12): Darkness Over a Third of the Earth

Verse 12: “And the fourth angel sounded, and the third part of the sun was smitten, and the third part of the moon, and the third part of the stars; so as the third part of them was darkened, and the day shone not for a third part of it, and the night likewise.”

A third part of the sun was smitten, and the moon and the stars were darkened. This could possibly be the result of the asteroid—the great mountain burning with fire—and nuclear weapons.

Whatever’s happening on the Earth, it could be supernatural or the results of the great mountain burning with fire. Whatever is the case, it’ll be so catastrophic that a third part of the Earth will be in darkness!

No eclipse that we’ve ever witnessed will be as intense as what this event will create!

THE WARNING ANGEL: WO, WO, WO

And if that’s not bad enough? An angel flies in through the midst of the whole earth saying, “Wo, wo, wo”—meaning judgment to the inhabitants of the Earth because of the trumpet judgments, the three remaining that are yet to sound!

Three more trumpets. Three more judgments. And we haven’t even gotten to the fifth, sixth, and seventh trumpets yet.
