I AM WISDOM: “My Grace is Sufficient for Thee” (Comfort for the Weary Soul)
“And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.”
— 2 Corinthians 12:9 (KJV)
LISTEN NOW: A MESSAGE FROM THE KING
Hear the comforting, direct words of Jesus speaking to your heart about your struggles, your guilt, and His unfailing grace.
Take a deep breath. Let His grace wash over you.
Friends and Bible Study Group of Divine Timing, we spend a lot of time watching the prophetic clock, tracking the great eagle, and sounding the watchman’s alarm. But today, I want to pause and look at something equally critical: the condition of our own hearts.
Many of you who are serious about the Lord are carrying a heavy burden. You are weighed down by your past, stressed by your current struggles, and haunted by your shortcomings. If that is you today, I want you to know: you are not alone.
There is no better example of this than the Apostle Paul. When we read his letters, we see a giant of the faith. But when we look closely at his own words, we see a man who battled the flesh just like we do.
THE BATTLE WITHIN: PAUL’S HONEST CONFESSION
In Romans chapter 7, Paul drops his guard and gives us one of the most raw, honest confessions in all of Scripture. Listen to his struggle in verses 15 through 19:
“For that which I do I allow not: for what I would, that do I not; but what I hate, that do I… For the good that I would I do not: but the evil which I would not, that I do.” — Romans 7:15, 19 (KJV)
Paul was baffled by his own actions. He wanted to do good, but his flesh pulled him toward sin. He cried out, “O wretched man that I am! who shall deliver me from the body of this death?”
Brother and sister, if the greatest apostle in history struggled with the flesh, it is okay if you struggle too. It does not mean you are not saved. It means you are human, and you are in a war.
WHAT WAS PAUL’S THORN?
Because of the abundance of revelations God gave him, Paul was given a “thorn in the flesh.” He called it “the messenger of Satan to buffet me” (2 Corinthians 12:7). He begged the Lord three times to take it away.
What was this thorn? Scholars have debated it for centuries. Was it a physical illness? Persecution? Spiritual attack?
I want to present a theory to you today. Look at the clue in verse 7: “lest I should be exalted above measure.”
Remember who Paul was before he was Paul. He was Saul of Tarsus. He murdered Christians. He breathed out threatenings and slaughter against the disciples. He was a chief sinner.
Imagine the weight of that. Imagine being born again, filled with the Holy Spirit, and suddenly realizing the blood of the saints was on your hands. Satan is the “accuser of the brethren” (Revelation 12:10). What better way for the enemy to buffet Paul than to constantly whisper in his ear: “You are a murderer. You are unworthy. Look at what you did to your brethren.”
That haunting memory, that tremendous weight of guilt from his past, could very well have been the thorn. And God allowed it to remain, not to torture Paul, but to keep him humble, dependent, and entirely reliant on Christ.
A MESSAGE FROM THE KING
The Lord’s response to Paul’s begging is the greatest comfort for any believer trying to overcome their current sins. He didn’t remove the thorn. Instead, He gave Paul something better. He gave him Himself.
Listen to these words, spoken directly to your heart today:
“My grace is sufficient for thee.”
These are the words that I shared with my servant Paul, who was struggling with much guilt from his past. You see, he had a thorn in his flesh. A messenger from the enemy, Satan, was sent to buffet him. He is the accuser of the brethren.
And I want you to know… this enemy is doing the very same thing to you right now.
You think I do not know what it is like to be tempted? I was among you. I was tempted in every way, just as you are, yet without sin. I can sympathize with your weakness. I feel the weight of it.
This doesn’t mean that I approve of your shortcomings. Rather, I do not. I paid a very high price to cover them. With my own blood.
But hear me clearly: I am not leaving you alone to struggle by yourself. I have sent you my Comforter. My very presence. Myself, in you. I am not leaving you to fix these problems alone.
I see what is going on in your life. I see the worry that keeps you awake at night regarding your finances. I see the weaknesses that you try to hide. I see the lustfulness in your eyes and in your heart. I see the drinking problem you are fighting, the anger you cannot control, the past mistakes that haunt you.
Whatever it is that is on your mind right now… I see it. And I know it.
You might struggle with these things today. But I will help you overcome them. And in the meantime, when you are weak, I am strong. When you are broken, I am your healer. When the accuser points to your past, I point to my cross.
Do not let the enemy convince you that you are too far gone. Look unto me. Cast your burden upon me. For my grace… is sufficient for thee.”
THE ABCs OF SALVATION
If you are carrying the weight of sin and you don’t know Jesus, you don’t have to carry it anymore. Having a born-again experience is super easy. Don’t waste another second.
A — ADMIT You’re a Sinner
Acknowledge that you have fallen short of God’s glory and need a Savior. You cannot save yourself.
“For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.” (Romans 3:23)
B — BELIEVE in Jesus Christ
Believe that Jesus died for your sins, was buried, and rose again on the third day. He is the only way to the Father.
“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” (John 3:16)
C — CALL Out to Him
Call upon the name of the Lord. Surrender your life to Him and ask Him to save you.
“For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.” (Romans 10:13)
Pray this from your heart. Right where you are:
“Lord Jesus, I admit I am a sinner. I believe You died for my sins and rose again. I call upon Your name to save me. I surrender my life to You. Thank you for saving me. Amen.”
If you prayed that, congratulations.
You didn’t earn it. You received it.
You’re SAVED AND SEALED. (Ephesians 1:13)

YOUR 5-MINUTE ACTIVATION: CAST YOUR BURDEN
The enemy wants you to carry the weight of your past. Jesus wants you to cast it on Him. Take 5 minutes to exchange your burden for His sufficient grace.
5-MINUTE ACTIVATION: CAST YOUR BURDEN
“Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.” — 1 Peter 5:7 (KJV)
Step 1: IDENTIFY the Accusation (60 sec)
What is the enemy whispering to you right now? What past sin or current weakness is he using to make you feel unworthy? Name it. Bring it into the light.
Step 2: PLEAD the Blood (90 sec)
Remind the accuser that Jesus paid the price. Pray: “Lord, I plead the blood of Jesus over my past. I am forgiven. I am washed. I am a new creation in Christ.”
Step 3: RECEIVE His Strength (90 sec)
Stop striving in your own power. Pray: “Lord, my grace is sufficient for me. Your strength is made perfect in my weakness. I yield to You today. Maranatha. Come, Lord Jesus.”
️ TOTAL TIME: 5 MINUTES
Cast your burden. Receive His grace. Rest in the King.
