Luke 10:38-42 Unveiled: Choosing Jesus’ Feet Over the World’s Noise
“Now it came to pass, as they went, that he entered into a certain village: and a certain woman named Martha received him into her house. And she had a sister called Mary, which also sat at Jesus’ feet, and heard his word. But Martha was cumbered about much serving, and came to him, and said, Lord, dost thou not care that my sister hath left me to serve alone? bid her therefore that she help me. And Jesus answered and said unto her, Martha, Martha, thou art careful and troubled about many things: But one thing is needful: and Mary hath chosen that good part, which shall not be taken away from her.”
โ Luke 10:38-42 (KJV)

Friends, today we’re pausing from prophetic patterns to address the heart of the watchman.
We’ve been tracking Daniel 10:13. We’ve been watching the ravenous bird fly. We’ve been sounding the alarm about spiritual warfare, the Strait of Hormuz, and the Kings of Persia.
But in the midst of all this noiseโฆ where are YOU sitting?
The question for the church today:
Are you at Jesus’ feetโseeing from His perspective? Or are you cumbered by the world’s noiseโdistracted by mainstream media, government narratives, and biased voices?
This isn’t just a story about two sisters. This is a prophetic warning for the church in these last days.
SECTION 1: THE TWO SISTERS โ A TALE OF TWO CHURCHES
Luke 10:38-42 reveals two responses to Jesus’ presence.
| Mary | Martha |
|---|---|
| โ Sat at Jesus’ feet | โ Cumbered about much serving |
| โ Heard His word | โ Distracted by many things |
| โ Chose the “good part” | โ Careful and troubled |
| โ Eternal perspective | โ Temporal concerns |
Jesus’ response is gentle but firm:
“Martha, Martha, thou art careful and troubled about many things: But one thing is needful: and Mary hath chosen that good part, which shall not be taken away from her.”
One thing is needful.
Not many things. One thing.
SECTION 2: MARY’S POSITION โ SEEING FROM JESUS’ LEVEL
Notice where Mary sat: “At Jesus’ feet.”
This isn’t just physical positioning. This is spiritual perspective.
What does it mean to sit at Jesus’ feet?
- ๐ Seeing from His level down โ Not earth looking up, but heaven looking down
- ๐ Hearing His word first โ Scripture before headlines, revelation before reaction
- ๐๏ธ Resting in His presence โ Not striving, not anxious, not troubled
- โฐ Eternal perspective โ What will remain when the noise fades?
This is what Divine Timing Ministries represents.
We’re not trying to be louder than the world. We’re trying to sit at Jesus’ feetโand invite you to do the same.
The promise:
“Mary hath chosen that good part, which shall not be taken away from her.”
The world’s noise will fade. Headlines will change. Governments will rise and fall. But what you receive at His feet remains forever.
SECTION 3: MARTHA’S DISTRACTION โ THE WORLD’S NOISE TODAY
Martha wasn’t doing anything evil. She was serving. She was busy. She was concerned.
But Jesus called it what it was: “Careful and troubled about many things.”
Martha’s distractions in 2026:
- ๐บ Mainstream media โ 24/7 news cycles designed to keep you anxious
- ๐๏ธ Government narratives โ Political agendas masquerading as truth
- ๐๏ธ Biased podcasters โ Voices with agendas, not anointing
- ๐ฑ Social media chaos โ Comparison, outrage, endless scrolling
- ๐ผ Work/life pressure โ Survival mode over kingdom focus
Sound familiar?
Martha looked at Mary and said: “Lord, dost thou not care that my sister hath left me to serve alone?”
That’s the voice of distraction: “Why aren’t you as worried as I am?”
The trap:
Martha wanted Mary to leave Jesus’ feet and join her in the chaos. The world wants you to do the same.
SECTION 4: THE PROPHETIC WARNING FOR THE CHURCH
This isn’t just about two sisters in a first-century village.
This is about the church in these last days.
Two churches emerging:
| The Mary Church | The Martha Church |
|---|---|
| โ At Jesus’ feet | โ At the world’s feet |
| โ Hearing His word | โ Hearing the news |
| โ Peaceful, focused, ready | โ Anxious, scattered, troubled |
| โ Watching for the King | โ Watching the headlines |
Which church are you part of?
The Rapture is imminent. The signs are accelerating. The King is coming.
Don’t let the world’s noise steal your place at His feet.
SECTION 5: CHOOSING THE GOOD PART โ PRACTICAL STEPS
So how do we choose Mary’s part in a Martha world?
- ๐ Start with Scripture โ Before news, before podcasts, before social media: Open the Word
- ๐คซ Create silence โ Turn off the noise. Listen for His voice
- ๐ Pray before reacting โ Don’t let headlines dictate your peace
- โ Test every voice โ “To the law and to the testimony” (Isaiah 8:20)
- ๐ Fix your eyes on the King โ Not the chaos, not the crisis, not the culture
This is what we’re trying to do at Divine Timing Ministries.
Not add to the noise. But point you to the One who speaks above it all.
๐๏ธ A UNIQUE INVITATION: THE SEALING MOMENT
This isn’t about religion. This isn’t about reciting words. This is about being sealed by the Spirit.
“In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise.”
โ Ephesians 1:13 (KJV)
You don’t earn the seal. You receive it.
Here’s howโRIGHT NOW:
โ A โ ACKNOWLEDGE the Noise Has Failed
The world’s voices have left you anxious, troubled, and scattered. Mary chose the better partโJesus’ word, Jesus’ presence, Jesus’ perspective.
“Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.” (Matthew 11:28)
โ B โ BELIEVE He Is Worthy of Your Focus
Jesus isn’t just another voice. He is the Word. He is the Truth. He is the One who speaks eternal life into your soul.
“Lord, to whom shall we go? thou hast the words of eternal life.” (John 6:68)
โ C โ COMMIT to Sitting at His Feet
Not someday. Not when things calm down. Now. Choose the good part. Let the world rageโyour peace is in Him.
“Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.” (Isaiah 26:3)
๐ Pray this from your heartโright where you are:
“Lord Jesus, I’m tired of the noise. I’m choosing Your feet over the world’s chaos. I believe You are the Word. I receive Your peace. Seal me with Your Spirit. Keep me until You come. Make me Yoursโtoday and forever. Amen.”
๐ If you prayed thatโcongratulations.
You’re not just forgiven. You’re SEALED. (Ephesians 1:13)

๐ฅ FINAL WORD: WATCH. PRAY. PROCLAIM.
Don’t fear the headlines. Don’t idolize the instruments. Fix your eyes on the King.
๐ Mary chose the good part.
๐ Her focus remained on His word.
๐๏ธ Her peace could not be taken away.
Choose the same. The King is coming.
“Surely the Lord GOD will do nothing, but he revealeth his secret unto his servants the prophets.”
โ Amos 3:7 (KJV)
Maranatha.
The King is coming. And we’ll proclaim His truth together. ๐
