Friends and Bible Study Group of Divine Timing thanks for joining me in this study. Tonight, we are diving into one of the most intense, pivotal, and eye-opening chapters in the entire Bible: Revelation 13.

What jumps out immediately in verse 1 is that John is seeing a beast rise out of the sea from the sand of the seashore. There is some profound irony here. John was raptured up to heaven to journal what’s happening, yet look how God is using the analogy of a beach and an ocean, exactly where John was physically located on the island of Patmos!

It seems that when God is speaking to us, He does it in terms of relativity to where we actually are, so we can connect the dots. God meets us on our beach.

THE LEOPARD, THE BEAR, AND THE LION: THE THREE HEADS

The beast which we know is the man of sin rising out of the sea looks like he is in absolute control of certain nations. Look at the analogy: a bear, a leopard, and a lion. Those all represent nations, and he’s been given authority over all three. This is the initial three-head power base of the Antichrist before it expands into the 10-nation confederacy.

1. THE LEOPARD (AMERICA): In Daniel 7, the leopard had four wings and four heads. Wings in prophecy always represent speed, agility, and global reach. The leopard represents the sheer speed and technological dominance of the U.S. military-industrial complex. Think about what America accomplished hitting Iran with Operation Midnight Hammer and Operation Epic Fury. When the Great Horn is broken, the Antichrist inherits this “leopard-like” global military machine.

2. THE BEAR (RUSSIA): In Daniel 7, the bear was “raised up on one side” and told to “devour much flesh.” The Russian Bear is literally the national symbol of Russia. Being raised up on one side represents their historical dominance over the Soviet states. “Devouring much flesh” perfectly describes their military appetite and brutal invasions. After Ezekiel 38, the remnants of that northern confederacy will be absorbed and co-opted to become the brute force of the Beast system.

3. THE LION (COMPROMISED ISRAEL): This is the most fascinating one. In Daniel 7:4, the lion had eagle’s wings that were plucked off, and it was made to stand on two feet like a man, and “a man’s heart was given to it.”

Brother, read that again through the lens of our current reality. The Lion of Judah was originally meant to fly on the wings of God’s divine protection. But when the wings are “plucked,” it represents Israel losing its spiritual mandate and divine covering. It is reduced to just another secular, geopolitical nation. It stands on human strength, human military, and human alliances. And it is given “a man’s heart”—a secular, humanistic, liberal mindset.

I was in Israel in 2023, just before the attack on October 7th. I can tell you there is a very secular side to Israel. Jerusalem is the most religious part of the country, but Tel Aviv reminded me of a small, liberal America. My tour guides were super intelligent, but when we talked politics, they absolutely hated Benjamin Netanyahu, blaming him for all the country’s problems. It reminded me of liberals in America blaming Donald Trump.

A traditional, religious Israeli leadership will never willingly divide Jerusalem or give up the land, because they know it belongs to God (Joel 3). But a compromised, secular Israeli government with “a man’s heart” will absolutely do it. They will trade the land for “peace,” for economic prosperity, and for global acceptance. They will sign the covenant with the Antichrist (Daniel 9:27) because they view it as a standard geopolitical real estate deal, completely blind to the spiritual treason they are committing.

THE MORTAL WOUND: A MAN OR A NATION?

Now here’s where things get interesting. The Bible specifically says one of his heads is wounded to death.

A lot of Bible scholars over the years just gloss over it and say, “Well, the Antichrist is assassinated here and is resurrected. And then the whole world wonders after the beast.” But is that really what the Bible is saying? I’m not so sure.

Have you ever heard of a three-headed man before? I haven’t! But we did read about him having authority over three different entities described as animals. I believe that represents Nations that he has authority over.

So what is this mortal wound? Could it be the Great Horn being broken? And the little horn rising? And the world seems to be extremely happy that he has replaced the old global order. Could that be the case?

We don’t know for sure, we’re only speculating, but we’re asking God for help to discern what we’re reading here and trying to match the clues in scripture. It might be something worth looking at. The heads are kingdoms. The wound is to a nation’s global dominance. When the world sees America (the Leopard), Russia (the Bear), and a compromised Israel (the Lion) all merge their military, economic, and political power under the Antichrist, the entire globe will marvel. They will say, “Who is able to make war with him?” because it combines American technology, Russian brute force, and the geopolitical/religious epicenter of the Middle East.

THE WORLD WORSHIPS & THE BLASPHEMY

Now that he has total control, the world is just offering worship. And that’s even before the mark of the beast is in place! Fascinating. It’s the ultimate setup for his new rule.

It’s apparent that having grants him permission for a season to boast of great things with great authority and even challenging the throne in heaven. Committing blasphemy! How crazy is that?

He’s also given permission to have victory over those who are resisting him. Those that the 144,000, the Jewish witnesses, plus the two witnesses have been preaching against him.

REV 13:9 – IF ANY MAN HAS AN EAR

I love how the Lord drops the truth bomb in Revelation 13:9: “If anybody has an ear, let him hear.”

But notice… it doesn’t say “to the churches.”

What this is saying is that we need to highlight this area of the scriptures and really pay attention because it’s super important. The Church has already been raptured. This warning is for the Tribulation saints. It’s a divine alarm bell for those left behind.

THE FALSE PROPHET & MATTHEW 24 DECEPTION

So here comes that other beast out of the earth—something that John can relate to on the island of Patmos. This is none other than the False Prophet.

He’s also called a beast. Notice it says the Antichrist isn’t the one doing the great wonders; it is this second beast doing the great wonders representing the first beast.

Verse 14: Jesus warned Israel, “Take heed that no man deceive you.” Look in verse 14, this is exactly what’s happening. The warning was laid down in Matthew 24. The False Prophet is the ultimate fulfillment of that deception.

THE MARK: DON’T OVERTHINK IT

The mark of the beast is being fully put in place here.

I don’t like to overthink this area. Just let the Bible describe what’s happening. I’ve noticed that a lot of folks in the Christian community are trying to overthink this. It literally says a mark in their right hand or in their forehead. Or else they cannot buy or sell.

So it’s a religious system connected to a monetary system. Maybe a social credit score? It’s literal, it’s physical, and it’s tied to total allegiance to the Beast system.

VERSE 18 – THE CALL FOR WISDOM

Verse 18 has always said: “If anybody has wisdom, let them discern what this means. Let him that hath understanding count the number of the beast: for it is the number of a man; and his number is Six hundred threescore and six.”

It requires wisdom and understanding. It’s not just a math problem; it’s a spiritual discernment test. The world is sleepwalking into this system, but the remnant is watching, discerning, and preparing.
