Here’s the breaking news: Talks between the U.S. and Iran were called off Friday after intense fighting between Israel and Hezbollah in southern Lebanon. Iranian officials didn’t travel as planned to Switzerland, insisting that the fighting in Lebanon must stop before the talks can take place.

Brother and sister, this is not a coincidence. This is prophecy being set up before our very eyes.

LEBANON IS THE STUMBLING BLOCK

Let me be crystal clear: The eagle has not landed yet. We are not declaring Ezekiel 17:3 fulfilled at this moment. What we ARE doing is tracking the setup. We’re watching the framework being built.

And the stumbling block? It’s Lebanon.

Look at what’s happening RIGHT NOW. A peace deal concerning Iran, Israel, and the region is being negotiated. The G7 Summit in France is hosting these talks. The great eagle with “divers colours” (the coalition of Western nations) is gathering. But the deal keeps stalling.

Why? Because Lebanon is the pressure point. The conflict between Israel and Hezbollah is the most precarious part of the Iran deal. Neither Israel nor Hezbollah signed the agreement—but it’s supposed to end their fighting.

And here’s the key: Iran has signaled its willingness to risk renewed war in the region for the sake of its interests in Lebanon and its most important regional ally—Hezbollah.

This is not speculation. This is the prophetic setup for Ezekiel 17:3. Both the great eagle (Western powers) AND the Assyrian (Antichrist) are positioning themselves on Lebanon. We’re watching it unfold in real-time.

THE ASSYRIAN: THE NEXT TO LAND ON THE CEDAR

But we must look closely at the prophetic sequence. Ezekiel 17 gives us the great eagle, but Ezekiel 31:3-9 gives us another critical player: “Behold, the Assyrian was a cedar in Lebanon with fair branches…”

Many prophecy scholars identify the Assyrian as a type of the Antichrist. Just as the great eagle (Western powers) is positioning itself on Lebanon right now, the Assyrian is also destined to take his place on that very same cedar.

Here is the crucial timeline: The eagle lands first. We are currently watching the Trump administration and Western powers attempt to broker this initial framework. But after this current administration finishes its work and the deal is set, the stage will be perfectly prepared for the Assyrian.

The Antichrist will step onto the world stage, take over the covenant, and eventually break it (Daniel 9:27). He is currently waiting in the wings. The current negotiations and stumbling blocks in Lebanon are simply laying the groundwork for the ultimate covenant breaker to take his seat on the cedar.

COVENANT BREAKERS IN ACTION

Now, here is what the church MUST understand. The Apostle Paul directly lists what we would see in the last days in Romans 1:31-32:

Covenant breakers. That is a specific sign of the last days.

And here we are, watching it play out. Iran says one thing, then another. Israel strikes, then negotiates. The West pressures, then relents. Covenant breakers everywhere.

As General Jack Keane said on Mark Levin’s show last night: Iran is a “diabolical, ideologically driven regime” that is “fundamentally committed to destruction.” They cannot be trusted. They are covenant breakers by nature.

This deal will likely fail. And when it does, watch what happens next.

THE POLITICAL PRESSURE IS BUILDING

Here’s something else to consider: President Trump is under pressure to get this settled before the November midterms.

Gas prices have already dropped significantly. But if they spike back up, it’s going to make the administration look bad. The interim deal has halted hostilities in Iran and the Gulf and reopened the Strait of Hormuz. More than 12.5 million barrels of oil were shipped through the waterway on Wednesday night.

But here’s the problem: It’s expected to take weeks or months for the normal flow of oil and gas to resume, even if traffic fully resumes.

The interim deal gives negotiators 60 days to come up with a nuclear agreement. That clock is ticking. And the political pressure is building.

So if the eagle lands in Lebanon—if the framework is established—that might take care of the political problem. But we’re not there yet.

WHAT HAPPENS WHEN THIS DEAL FAILS?

Let me be clear: This Iran deal, like all the others, will not hold. Why? Because we are living in the days of covenant breakers. Iran’s regime is diabolical, ideologically driven, and fundamentally committed to destruction. They cannot be trusted.

And when this deal fails, Iran will turn east—to Russia—for the Ezekiel 38 invasion.

This is the prophetic pattern. When the Western powers (the great eagle) cannot secure peace, Iran will seek alliance with Russia, Persia, and the northern confederacy described in Ezekiel 38.

But here’s what’s prophetic: The FRAMEWORK is being established. Once the blueprint is set (Ezekiel 17), then Trump and the nations can finalize the Abraham Accords. And when that happens? We may see the creation of the Third Temple—the very temple John was told to measure in Revelation 11.

DANIEL 9:27 IS STILL FUTURE

Now, let me be very careful here. We are not at Daniel 9:27 yet.

Daniel 9:27 says the Antichrist will “confirm the covenant with many for one week” (seven years), but in the midst of the week, he will break it. He is the ultimate covenant breaker.

But we’re not there yet. What we’re watching is the PREPARATION for that moment. The framework is being built. The players are positioning themselves. Lebanon is the staging ground.

And when the time is right, the Antichrist will step in as the ultimate mediator. He will confirm the covenant. And then he will break it.

But while men break covenants, God’s Word stands forever (Isaiah 40:8).

HEAVEN IS ORCHESTRATING ALL OF THIS

Brother and sister, I don’t know about you, but I can’t track all of this on my own. Multiple things are happening simultaneously that bring it all together. And I believe heaven is orchestrating all of this.

What Ezekiel prophesied over 2,600 years ago is being set up TODAY. What Daniel wrote about the covenant breaker is being prepared RIGHT NOW. What Paul warned about covenant breakers in the last days is manifesting BEFORE OUR EYES.

The question is not whether these prophecies will be fulfilled. The question is: Are you ready for what comes next?
